Funding For Trees

This project was funded through Sefton Council's Green Spaces Team through Section 106 contributions from nearby developments.Match funding has previously been provided through the Living Through Change budget of the Housing Market Renewal initiative managed by Crosby Maritime Housing and the Setting The Scene For Growth Programme managed by The Forestry Commission on behalf of The Northwest Regional Development Agency and more lately BIS.Further funding is from Defra's Big Tree Plant and The Local Sustainable Transport Fund part funded by The Department of Transport.This is a joint delivery with 5 local authorities in Merseyside including Sefton Council. The project is coordinated by the Green Streets programme by The Mersey Forest.

On going management of the trees is also secured to secure a sustainable tree planting with the aim to increase the kilometres of routes greened along which people will be encouraged to walk and cycle to destinations of local recreation,training,education and work.
